On Saturday, July 27th, 2002 Delegata held it's annual family picnic at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay. While the early morning hours were not promising good weather, by around 2 pm there was sunshine and a warm breeze. The Delegata employees and their families started trickling in around noon and were greeted with a beautiful buffet luncheon and live music.

After everyone had a plate or two (or three) of the delicious lunch, Cheryl announced several games for us to play. We were each given a puzzle piece and were tasked with finding others who held the matching pieces. We then played a game that involved chewing gum and blowing bubbles - which was truly a sight to see!

We had a surprise guest, Twinkie Dee Star, join us after lunch. She put on several games for kids (of all sizes) and provided many great photo opportunities. Kais and Paul were great sports when asked to wear the bright red long johns and have their suits stuffed with balloons. We all enjoyed watching the chicken-fry relay race where many members of the Delegata team ran back and froth wearing an apron and carrying a rubber chicken in a frying pan. The fun did not end there as we also played some games with a big parachute and ended up running down the street to catch our cameraman Jeff.

As the fun at the Ritz was starting to wind down, everyone was invited to Kais' home for dessert and coffee. There was an abundance of decadent delights to satisfy every sweet tooth. There was also live middle eastern music playing as all enjoyed their desserts and then of course, another surprise was in store…. The belly dancer came in and wowed everyone with her amazing moves. And we were even more surprised when she grabbed several Delegatans out of the audience to learn to belly dance as well. After many pictures were taken and the dessert was all gone, it was time to end the day in Half Moon Bay.
