The Delegata Management team was invited to attend a Smart Solutions presentation given by Bernie Stoltz of Fortune Management on June 27th, 2002.
The theme for the 4-hour in-office retreat was "Creating a Business Breakthrough". As Delegata is in a fast-growth stage, it is important for the management team to
be especially aware of the different variables involved in continuing on a positive growth path.

Bernie let the management team know that his objective is to help Delegata create an "extraordinary quality of life by creating a vision that is not only obtainable, but that is sustainable." He talked about the different Lifecycle Stages of a company and asked the management team where they think Delegata is today and what is holding us from moving to the next stage. The management team wrote down many different items that they felt needed to be addressed and Bernie asked the team to go through them one by one. He talked about what a Smart Solution is and led the management team in a discovery process of how to develop an attitude for creating this vision for Delegata.

The session was interactive and participatory and all attendees were encouraged to bring their "box" so they can move outside of it. The management team found that they agreed on many issues that needed to be addressed and put them in a priority order of importance. Some of the issues discussed were recruitment, HR, benefits, training and general processes.
